Book Beginnings on Friday

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by  Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading. If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.

"Sunday Afternoon- Bordelaise, Louisiana"

"A storm is brewing, and Nick Aroyo could tell, even from inside the Bordelaise Police Department that it was going to be a strong one."

Swept Aside  is the third book in Sharon Sala's Storm Front trilogy. The first book, Blown Away, was released in June, the second one Torn Apart was released in July, and Swept Aside in August.  The books do have the same setting, and some of the minor characters in common, though each book has different major characters. One of this book's main characters was a minor character in the first two books of the trilogy.
Each of the books could be read as a stand alone novel. They don' t need to be read in order, but I would suggest reading them in order. I mean, you might as well, since in all likelihood, if you read one, you will read the other two!  They are great reads!
I am so happy to finally have this book in my hands!  The first two in the trilogy were great!

  1. Hi Lu - I see you are a new book blogger which I was too not so long ago. I hope you enjoy being a part of this wonderful community of fellow readers as much as I do.
I haven't heard of this author so probably not available here in NZ but it sounds like a good thriller which I always enjoy.

    Happy reading!

  3. Hi Lu,

It's Friday night here in Australia, which means it's the night when I am unleashed on the world of bookish memes!

    So here I am!

Are the Storm Front books crime novels/family dramas/something else? They sound interesting. I'd like to know a little more

  4. I just saw this book in the Amazon Vine newsletter! Now I'm tempted to request it...this one sounds very fascinating.

I haven't read anything by Sharon Sala in a long time, but the ones I read were great.

    Here's my 56/beginnings:

  5. Thanks for all the comments! As a new blogger, it makes me feel good to know that someone other than me is reading my posts!!

@ Cat - I had never heard of her until this year. I have read 4 of her books so far, and have really enjoyed every one of them. She also wrote under the name Dinah McCall.

Amanda - I am not exactly sure what category I would place them in. I guess I would say they are mystery, contemporary fiction, or romantic suspense. They have mystery, and suspense, with just a bit of romance. Nothing graphic, but someone falls in love! They really are great stories.

@Laurel-Rain Snow - Oh they are good! I have only read a few books by her. The Storm Front trilogy, and Bloodlines, and The Return which were published under the pseudonym Dinah McCall.

I am really hoping you ladies see my reply to your posts! Once again, thanks for your comments. I hope to read more of them in the future!
