I came across a couple new to me words this week. They are both from the book The Truth About Delilah Blue by Tish Cohen.
Besenji –noun
one of an African breed of dogs having a chestnut coat with whitepoints and a curled tail, characterized chiefly by their inability to bark.
actuary -noun
a professional who calculates financial values associated with uncertain events subject to risk, such as insurance premiums or pension contributions.
So, this week I have come across 2 new to me words. It is likely that I will never use these words in my everyday life!
This post looks weird to me, but I have spent quite a bit of of time editing it. Itjust won't get rid of the white box around the definitons, or part of them! It won't allow my to move the beginning of the first one down into the box either! RRRR I give up!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogging and WWW! I'm thrilled that you've posted new words already! Those don't sound like words you'd have much use for unless you decide to get a new dog. Thanks for participating!
ReplyDeleteThese are some great words! I knew what an actuary was, but the other word is new to me. I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI have seen the word Bensenji before but didn't know the meaning & especially didn't know it's a breed of dog. Being an animal lover, I'm really happy to find out!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And welcome to Blogging!

I have problems with my posts frequently. When I try to change things around or move something it doesn't always work.
ReplyDeleteI think the white boxes around the words & defs look great & they highlight the words! I didn't even notice that the word "Bensenji" wasn't in the box.
There are many bloggers who will help you out with questions about your plog & posts. I don't know anything helpful or I would definitely tell you, but if you do a search for help with posts in the blo community you will get some answers!
So good luck & No worries!

Thanks for the comments ladies! It made me feel good to know that someone read my post!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for Besenji. I definitely do not want one! While the idea of a dog that doesn't bark sounds great, the fact that they howl and whine since they can't bark, is definitely a factor that would help me decide to never own one of them! I hear enough whining from the kids! (Just kidding!)
